How do I order a wedding cake?
We offer wedding cake tastings Tuesdays through Saturdays between 9am and 3pm. Wedding cakes are usually ordered 3-6 months in advance. Please call us to schedule a tasting appointment.
Can I change aspects of the design of a cake I saw on your website?
Yes! You are welcome to change colors, shape, designs of tiers etc. Our pastry chefs will help guide you on design.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. When you place your order we require a deposit of 50%. We take all major credit cards and of course cash, as payment.
Can you set items aside?
As a policy we do not set anything aside on the same day. Unfortunately we do not have enough staff to handle this request.
Do you deliver?
We generally only deliver very large specialty cakes (70+ servings) and wedding cakes. But if it is a slow time of year we may be able to accommodate you. We deliver within 30-40 minutes of Chestnut Hill and the fee is usually $40. We also work with a courier service that may be able to accomodate you, call us for their information.
Do you ship any of your cakes or other menu items?
We do not ship our cakes because we have no control over how the package would be handled and the temperatures that the product would be subject to.
You are, however, welcome to come to the shop, discuss with the staff what cookies, brownies and coffee cakes would ship well and send it yourself.
Do you use Peanut oil?
We do not use peanut oil, however, if you have a nut allergy we recommend that you do not eat anything from our bakery. We use many types of nuts as well as peanut butter and we cannot guarantee they have not come into contact with a nut free item.
Do you make sugar free or gluten free items?
We do not make sugar free cakes as we do not use any artificial sweeteners. We have a flourless chocolate cake that is always available in the case in the form of cakes and cupcakes.
When is your cutoff date for holiday orders?
We stop taking orders about 5-7 days before a holiday and that often means all orders. Because certain holidays are tremendously busy we must stop taking all orders so that we can accommodate customers who placed orders before the deadline. We are, however, working very hard to have lots of extra items in the case to choose from. If you forget to place an order, be comforted by the fact that we have over 40 items to choose from on a regular basis.
Do you accept interns?
We only accept unpaid interns who are enrolled in a culinary school. Please send your resume to the attention of the pastry chef with dates you are available. We will call you if we have an opening.
